.To help ensure you have the best stay possible, we have created this helpful guide on what we supply, as well as what you may wish to bring on your stay, and where some good places are to purchase items in the local area.
It of course pays to come prepared with ample food and drink, as when you’re enjoying yourself as much as you will, the last thing you want is to run out of anything!
We provide our guests the convenience of not having to make food shopping a priority by provision of a complimentary welcome pack for each stay comprising of basic supplies to allow you to start relaxing from the minute you arrive. So if you wish you can simply drive there, check-in, sort dinner out with a takeaway pizza or pasta from nearby Huey’s @ Blueys or a meal at Kembali, and leave the shopping until the next day!
These free inclusions consist of coffee, tea, sugar, fresh milk, cooking oil, aluminum foil, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and kitchen towel paper.
We also supply an Expressi Pod Coffee Machine and some starter pods! Compatible coffee pods can only be purchased in any Aldi Supermarket – including the nearby Stockland Shopping Village. Please don’t try to use other pods as they have a habit of getting stuck in the machine.
The undercover BBQ area is a great place to cook food when catering for a large group, so it’s recommended you purchase food with this in mind.
Groceries, especially the stuff that needs to stay cool or frozen, can be purchased on your journey and there are several options when it comes to the best place to buy groceries for your stay at Wallis Lakehouse.
There is a large food works in Charlotte bay about 10 minutes drive from the property. They have most things you would want. The villages of Smiths Lake and Blueys Beach have a number of boutique shops including bottle shops, butchers, bakery, cafes and restaurants.
We supply each booking with a few complimentary rolls of toilet paper per bathroom to get you started, and ask that you provide your own after that. We also provide dishwasher tablets, dishwashing liquid, cleaning cloths and cleaning spray. There is also a cleaning cupboard with a broom, mop, dustpan and brush and a Dyson vacuum cleaner.
Don’t forget swimwear in the warmer months (and sunscreen/zinc), and jackets, jumpers and Ugg boots in the cooler part of the year. Also, consider some smart casual clothes if you might have dinner somewhere fancy like the nearby Mobys.
Beds are made up for your stated number of guests (up to 18 people) with professionally laundered linen, pillows and doonas (plus blankets in the cooler months).
We also supply a clean bath towel for each guest, but request that these not leave the house, so please bring your own beach towels if you intend on swimming in the pool, lake or at the beach. And for our younger guests, a cot with mattress, change table and high chair are also available upon request – please BYO linen and bedding for the cot.
The loungeroom features a large screen smart TV and there is a second wall-mounted TV/DVD in one of the bedrooms which has netflix. To entertain the kids or as a wet weather back up, you can also bring your own gaming console (Xbox, PlayStation, Wii etc) that will plug into the HDMi or A/V ports on the TVs, and/or laptop computer with connection cables.
If you have been approved to bring a dog/s, don’t forget their bedding, food, bowls, toys and plastic bags.
To make full use of the cricket pitch, while we will aim to maintain basic gear including stumps, to be safe please BYO cricket bats and a quantity of balls (with an easy option being tennis balls covered in electrical tape).
We provide up to 4x Kayaks with paddles and 4x life vests, but if you have your own lifevests, it is recommended you bring these to ensure a comfortable fit. If you plan on bringing your own water craft, please enquire as to the best way to manage this.
And for the keen anglers, Wallis Lake is a great fishing spot so don’t forget to pack your rods, reels and bait.
Finally, there are plenty of places to ride push bikes, so consider bringing your own along on your stay. Kids can ride BMX around the property, while older guests may wish to mountain/road bike up Coomba Road and through nearby Wallingat National Park.
